Market Overview#

Turkey's stock market saw positive movement on Thursday, with the BIST 100 index increasing by 0.65% at the close of trading in Istanbul. This rise was primarily supported by gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Insurance, and Electricity sectors.

Notable Performers#

Among the top gainers on the BIST 100, Tureks Turizm Tasimacilik AS saw a significant increase of 10.00%, rising 0.71 points to close at 7.81. SASA Polyester Sanayi AS also gained 10.00%, adding 0.22 points to finish at 2.42. Kiler Holding AS was close behind, up 9.98% or 17.90 points, ending the day at 197.20.

Decliners in the Market#

On the flip side, some stocks experienced losses. Turkiye Halk Bankasi dropped 5.24%, losing 2.44 points to trade at 44.14. Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO fell by 4.84%, down 1.72 points to close at 33.80. Ral Yatirim Holding AS also saw a decline of 3.56%, shedding 5.10 points to finish at 138.20.

Overall, advancing stocks outnumbered those that fell, with 324 stocks gaining compared to 269 that declined, while 21 stocks remained unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. In commodities, Gold Futures for April delivery decreased by 0.90% to $5,132.64 per troy ounce, while Crude oil prices saw an increase, with April delivery rising 10.72% to $96.60 per barrel. The Turkish Lira showed slight fluctuations against the US Dollar and Euro, with USD/TRY up 0.12% and EUR/TRY down 0.15%.
