Introduction#

Technology Minerals Plc has announced that its subsidiary, Recyclus Group Ltd, has successfully installed new battery separation equipment at its facility in Wolverhampton. This advancement aims to enhance the recovery of valuable metals from processed battery materials.

New Equipment and Its Purpose#

The newly installed equipment is designed to recover copper and aluminium as separate commercial outputs. Previously, Recyclus did not have the capability to capture these metals as distinct revenue streams. With this new technology, the facility can now separate and recover black mass, copper, and aluminium in a continuous process, improving efficiency in metal recovery.

Financial Support and Expectations#

To support the deployment of this equipment, Technology Minerals provided a short-term bridge loan of £100,000 to Recyclus. This loan will accrue interest and is expected to be repaid by July 20, 2026, from the proceeds of the materials processed. Based on current market prices, the expected net revenue is approximately £8,000 per tonne for copper and around £1,300 per tonne for aluminium.

Reprocessing and Future Outlook#

Reprocessing of previously processed materials began immediately after the installation. Recyclus has about 180 tonnes of material on-site that contains recoverable black mass, copper, and aluminium, with the reprocessing expected to be completed within approximately 12 weeks. The primary processing operations at the facility have continued with minimal disruption during the installation period.

Alex Stanbury, CEO of Technology Minerals and Director of Recyclus, emphasized that this new capability opens up copper and aluminium as new commercial revenue streams for the company.
