Overview of Taiwan's Market Performance#

Taiwan's stock market ended on a positive note on Wednesday, with the Taiwan Weighted Index rising by 0.42%. This increase was largely supported by gains in sectors such as Electronic Parts/Components, Electricity, and Computers & Peripherals.

Notable Gainers#

Among the top performers, Qualipoly Chemical Corp saw a significant rise of 10.00%, adding 18.00 points to close at 198.00. Sunko Ink Co Ltd also gained 10.00%, increasing by 2.05 points to finish at 22.55. Mirle Automation Corp matched this performance, climbing 10.00% or 7.90 points to end at 86.90.

Major Declines#

On the flip side, some stocks faced notable losses. Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd dropped by 9.92%, losing 0.61 points to trade at 5.54. Hotel Holiday Garden saw a decline of 9.83%, down 1.75 points to close at 16.05, while BenQ Materials Corp fell by 9.23%, shedding 2.70 points to finish at 26.55.

Commodities and Currency Update#

In commodities trading, crude oil prices for June delivery fell by 0.95%, settling at $88.82 a barrel. Brent oil also decreased by 0.58%, reaching $97.91 a barrel. In contrast, June Gold Futures rose by 1.29%, trading at $4,780.29 per troy ounce.

In currency markets, the US Dollar to Taiwan Dollar exchange rate decreased by 0.05% to 31.48, while the Taiwan Dollar to Chinese Yuan remained stable at 0.22. The US Dollar Index Futures also saw a slight decline of 0.09%, standing at 98.13.
