Market Overview#

On Friday, Sweden's stock market experienced a decline, with the OMX Stockholm 30 index falling by 1.45%. This drop was primarily driven by losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials, and Oil & Gas sectors.

Top Performers#

Despite the overall downturn, some stocks managed to gain. EQT AB saw an increase of 2.99%, rising 8.10 points to close at 279.30. Telia Company AB also performed well, adding 0.92% or 0.43 points, ending at 47.12. Additionally, Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson Class B rose by 0.65%, up 0.70 points to close at 108.60.

Notable Declines#

On the other hand, several stocks faced significant losses. Sandvik AB dropped 6.31%, losing 24.00 points to trade at 356.20. Epiroc AB Class A declined by 4.01%, down 10.00 points to 239.20, while Atlas Copco AB Class A shed 3.08%, losing 5.40 points to close at 169.90.

Market Statistics#

Overall, declining stocks outnumbered those that rose, with 466 stocks falling compared to 276 that gained, and 50 stocks remaining unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. In commodities, crude oil prices rose, with April delivery up 1.00% to $96.69 a barrel, while Brent oil for May delivery increased by 0.74% to $101.20. Gold futures for April, however, fell by 1.41%, trading at $5,053.34 per troy ounce. In currency markets, the Euro appreciated against the Swedish Krona, rising 0.33% to 10.80, and the US Dollar gained 0.98% to 9.44.
