Market Overview#

Spain's stock market saw positive movement at the close on Wednesday, with the IBEX 35 index increasing by 0.28%. This rise was largely fueled by strong performances in the Financial Services, Real Estate, Consumer Goods, and Building & Construction sectors.

Top Gainers#

Among the biggest winners on the IBEX 35, Caixabank SA saw a notable increase of 2.70%, closing at 10.25. Bankinter followed closely with a rise of 1.98%, ending the day at 13.40. Naturgy Energy Group also performed well, up 1.87% to reach 26.10.

Notable Declines#

On the flip side, some stocks experienced losses. Puig Brands SA was the biggest loser, dropping 3.07% to close at 15.49. Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA fell by 2.70% to 20.90, and Amadeus IT declined by 1.84%, finishing at 50.28.

Overall, advancing stocks outnumbered those that fell, with 105 stocks gaining compared to 85 that declined, while 19 remained unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange. In commodities, Gold Futures for April delivery decreased by 2.34% to $4,891.21 per troy ounce, while Crude Oil prices saw an increase, with May delivery rising by 1.70% to $97.15 per barrel. The Euro remained stable against the US Dollar and British Pound, while the US Dollar Index Futures rose by 0.31% to 99.64.
