Market Overview#
Spain's stock market ended lower on Friday, with the IBEX 35 index dropping by 0.47%. This decline was driven primarily by losses in the Consumer Goods, Building & Construction, and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors.
Top Performers#
Despite the overall downturn, some stocks managed to gain. Repsol saw the largest increase, rising by 2.96% to close at 22.93. Cellnex Telecom followed with a 2.05% gain, ending at 29.36. Redeia Corporacion also saw a rise of 1.69%, closing at 15.07.
Notable Declines#
On the other hand, several stocks faced significant losses. ArcelorMittal dropped 4.28%, trading at 44.74. Sacyr and International Consolidated Airlines Group also saw declines of 2.20% and 2.12%, closing at 4.09 and 4.10, respectively. Overall, declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 124 to 65, with 14 remaining unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
Commodities and Currency Update#
In commodities, Gold Futures for April delivery fell by 1.39%, settling at $5,054.45 per troy ounce. Crude oil prices, however, saw a slight increase, with April delivery rising by 0.87% to $96.56 per barrel. The Euro also experienced a decline against the US Dollar, down 0.64% to 1.14, while the Euro remained stable against the British Pound at 0.86. The US Dollar Index Futures increased by 0.61%, reaching 100.36.
