Spain's stock market experienced a downturn on Wednesday, with the IBEX 35 index closing down by 0.53%. This decline was primarily driven by losses in the Financial Services, Real Estate, Telecoms, and Building sectors.

Notable Gainers#

Despite the overall decline, some stocks managed to perform well. Repsol saw a significant increase of 4.58%, closing at 21.70. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE rose by 2.84%, ending the day at 20.62. Aena SME SA also gained, up 0.90% to close at 25.70.

Major Losers#

On the flip side, several stocks faced notable losses. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI dropped by 4.58%, closing at 79.25. Telefonica fell by 2.96%, ending at 3.51, while Grifols SA decreased by 2.61%, closing at 9.48.

Overall, declining stocks outnumbered those that rose, with 121 stocks falling compared to 66 that gained, and 22 remaining unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange. In commodities, Gold Futures for April delivery fell by 1.06%, while Crude oil prices saw an increase, with April delivery rising by 3.76%. The EUR/USD exchange rate remained stable, while the US Dollar Index Futures increased by 0.39%.
