Notable Declines#
On the other hand, several companies faced significant losses. Arabian Company for Agricultural and Industrial Investment SCJSC dropped by 6.07%, losing 1.70 points to trade at 26.30. East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry fell by 3.37%, or 6.30 points, to close at 180.40, while Saudi Electricity Company decreased by 2.95%, shedding 0.52 points to end at 17.12.
Market Statistics#
Overall, declining stocks outnumbered those that rose, with 211 stocks falling compared to 125 that gained, and 19 remaining unchanged on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange. In the commodities market, crude oil prices saw a significant drop, with May delivery down 11.45% to $83.85 a barrel, and Brent oil for June delivery falling 9.07% to $90.38. Meanwhile, gold futures for June rose by 1.48% to trade at $4,879.60 per troy ounce. Currency exchange rates showed the Euro down 0.16% against the Saudi Riyal, while the US Dollar remained stable.
