Introduction#
Powerhouse Energy Group plc has announced a new project with a Welsh battery developer, valued at approximately £260,000. This contract marks a significant step in the company's ongoing efforts to innovate in the energy sector.
Project Details#
The contract entails providing thermal processing expertise, which involves using heat to modify test kilns. This will support the development of new anode materials, crucial components in batteries that help store and release energy. Powerhouse expects to receive payments for this work over the next eight months.
Progress on Ballymena Project#
In addition to the new contract, Powerhouse is making strides with its Ballymena project. The company has submitted a water and sewage application to NI Water and has responded to inquiries regarding noise and air quality studies. They have also received waste from a Northern Ireland supplier for testing at their Bridgend site and completed an underground services survey. A local consultant is being engaged to prepare for the necessary permit application following the planning process.
Joint Ventures and Marketing Agreements#
Powerhouse is also advancing its joint venture with Green Gecko, focusing on waste-to-energy projects in the Middle East and Europe. They are collaborating with a Bahrain-based entity and have introduced the Green Gecko team to their Australian project provider, National Waste to Energy (NW2E). Discussions are ongoing regarding initial funding to reach a Final Investment Decision.
Additionally, a recent marketing agreement with HUI has opened new opportunities in Central Europe. Powerhouse has also signed a no-win, no-fee agreement with a firm targeting the Caribbean, where discussions and feedstock testing are currently underway. The company is optimistic, with about ten live inquiries that could potentially lead to revenue-generating projects.
