Overview of Market Performance#

On Friday, Mexico's stock market ended on a positive note, with the S&P/BMV IPC index increasing by 0.87%. This rise was mainly supported by gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors.

Key Gainers#

Among the top performers, Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte saw a notable increase of 2.90%, adding 7.19 points to close at 254.79. Arca Continental, S.A.B. De C.V. followed closely with a rise of 2.54%, or 5.42 points, finishing at 218.46. Additionally, Corporacion Inmobiliaria Vesta SAB experienced a gain of 2.48%, up 1.53 points to close at 63.14.

Notable Declines#

On the flip side, some stocks faced declines. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV reported a drop of 3.00%, losing 0.52 points to trade at 16.79. Sigma Foods SAB de CV fell by 1.58%, or 0.27 points, ending at 16.87, while Cemex SAB de CV saw a decrease of 1.15%, down 0.25 points to close at 21.55.

Market Statistics#

In total, advancing stocks outnumbered those that fell, with 133 stocks gaining ground compared to 103 that declined, while 16 stocks remained unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

Commodity Prices#

In commodities, Gold Futures for June delivery increased slightly by 0.03%, reaching $4,725.40 per troy ounce. Conversely, Crude oil for June delivery fell by 1.01% to $94.88 per barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose by 0.79% to $105.90 per barrel.

In currency markets, the USD/MXN exchange rate decreased by 0.12% to 17.39, while the EUR/MXN rate increased by 0.22% to 20.38. The US Dollar Index Futures also saw a decline of 0.25%, settling at 98.36.
