Introduction#

Mayfair Gold Corp. has announced the appointment of Drew Anwyll as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Anwyll, who previously served as the company's Chief Operating Officer, takes over from Nick Campbell, who is stepping down.

Leadership Transition#

Darren McLean, Chair of the Board, expressed confidence that Anwyll's leadership will help the company advance its plans for the Fenn-Gib Gold Project. This project is a key focus for Mayfair Gold as it aims to develop and operate gold assets in Northern Ontario.

Drew Anwyll's Background#

Drew Anwyll brings over 30 years of experience in the gold mining industry, both in Canada and internationally. Before joining Mayfair, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Generation Mining Limited, where he oversaw the technical and environmental strategies for the Marathon Palladium-Copper Project. His leadership helped secure government approval for the project in late 2022.

Anwyll has also held senior roles at Detour Gold Corporation, where he played a significant part in the construction and operational scaling of the Detour Lake mine, which processed over 65,000 tonnes of ore daily. This mine was later sold for C$4.9 billion.

Mayfair Gold's Future Plans#

At Mayfair, Anwyll has already led the 2026 Pre-Feasibility Study and initiated Front-End Engineering and Design for the Fenn-Gib Project. The study estimates initial development costs at C$450 million, with a payback period of 2.7 years based on a gold price of US$3,100 per ounce. The company aims to begin construction in 2028 and expects initial production by 2030.

Recent Developments#

In addition to the leadership change, Mayfair Gold has entered into an agreement to acquire three exploration properties from Plato Gold Corp. for C$2.5 million. This acquisition will expand Mayfair's land holdings by over 65%. Furthermore, the company completed a private placement involving its Chief Financial Officer, Kevin Annett, who purchased 58,000 common shares, totaling C$254,040. The funds will be used to further develop the Fenn-Gib gold project, showcasing Mayfair's commitment to enhancing its exploration and development efforts.
