Introduction#
LOXO, a Switzerland-based company, has signed a letter of intent with Innoviz Technologies to incorporate Innoviz's advanced LiDAR technology into its autonomous driving solutions. This partnership aims to enhance LOXO's delivery vehicles designed for urban and regional logistics.
Testing and Evaluation#
The two companies are currently testing Innoviz’s InnovizTwo Long-Range LiDAR, which is a sensor technology that uses laser light to measure distances and create detailed 3D maps of the environment. If the testing phase is successful, LOXO plans to officially select Innoviz as its LiDAR supplier for its autonomous vehicle platform.
LOXO's Autonomous Delivery Vehicles#
LOXO's technology, known as Digital Driver, powers autonomous delivery vehicles that serve various sectors, including transport, retail, and postal services across Europe. The company is also working on developing a new generation of driverless vehicles to improve logistics operations.
Innoviz's Role and Market Performance#
Innoviz Technologies specializes in providing LiDAR sensor platforms to automotive manufacturers globally. Despite facing a decline in stock price over the past six months, Innoviz reported a significant revenue growth of 127% in the last year. However, their recent earnings report did not meet market expectations, showing a loss of $0.10 per share and revenue of $12.67 million, which fell short of forecasts.
The letter of intent between LOXO and Innoviz is a preliminary step and does not guarantee a final agreement. As both companies move forward, this collaboration could play a crucial role in advancing autonomous vehicle technology.
