Kuwait's Oil Production Forecast#
Kuwait's oil production is anticipated to reach 2.628 million barrels per day (bpd) in June, according to reports from the state news agency. This information was shared by the country's oil minister, highlighting a significant output level for the nation.
OPEC+ Output Increase#
In a related development, seven countries within the OPEC+ group have agreed to raise their oil output targets by 188,000 barrels per day in June. This marks the third consecutive month of increases in production targets, indicating a collective effort to boost oil supply in the market.
Challenges in Production#
Despite these increases in output targets, the actual production levels may not fully reflect these goals. Gulf countries, including Kuwait, have faced challenges in maintaining production due to geopolitical tensions, particularly with the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz amid the conflict involving Iran. This situation has forced many nations to reduce their oil output, making the increased targets more symbolic than practical at this time.
