On Monday, Israel's stock market experienced a slight decline, with the TA 35 index falling by 0.01% at the close in Tel Aviv. This downturn was primarily influenced by losses in several key sectors, including Insurance, Oil & Gas, and Financials.

Notable Gainers#

Despite the overall market decline, some stocks managed to perform well. Tower Semiconductor Ltd saw a significant increase of 14.53%, rising 5,530 points to close at 43,590. Enlight Energy followed with a 6.55% gain, adding 1,450 points to reach 23,590. Nova also saw a positive shift, up 2.56% or 3,430 points, closing at 137,420.

Major Losers#

On the flip side, several companies faced notable losses. Harel experienced a decline of 4.64%, dropping 850 points to trade at 17,450. Clal Insurance Enterprises Holdings Ltd fell by 4.25%, losing 1,070 points to end at 24,120. Menora Mivach also saw a decrease of 4.13%, shedding 2,070 points to close at 48,000.

Market Statistics#

Overall, the number of declining stocks outpaced those that rose, with 301 stocks falling compared to 156 that gained. Additionally, 94 stocks remained unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

Commodities and Currency Update#

In commodities, crude oil prices for May delivery dropped by 2.68%, settling at $94.24 per barrel. Brent oil also fell, down 1.28% to $101.82 per barrel. Gold futures for April decreased by 1.37%, trading at $4,992.30 per troy ounce.

In currency markets, the US dollar weakened against the Israeli shekel, down 0.62% to 3.12, while the euro remained relatively stable at 3.59 against the shekel.
