Overview of Market Performance#

On Tuesday, Israeli equities closed lower, with the TA 35 index dropping by 0.92%. This decline was largely influenced by significant losses in the Oil & Gas, Real Estate, and Technology sectors.

Key Gainers and Losers#

Despite the overall downturn, some stocks managed to perform well. Nova (TASE:NVMI) led the gains, rising by 4.55%, which translates to an increase of 5,900 points, bringing its closing price to 135,610. Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:TSEM) followed closely, adding 4.54% or 1,580 points to close at 36,350. Camtek Ltd (TASE:CAMT) also saw a rise of 4.08%, gaining 1,910 points to finish at 48,730.

On the other hand, the biggest losers included Next Vision Stabilized Systems (TASE:NXSN), which fell by 8.73% or 3,140 points, closing at 32,840. Enlight Ene (TASE:ENLT) dropped 6.82% or 1,610 points to end at 22,000, while Newmed Energy LP (TASE:NWMDp) lost 6.25% or 137 points, closing at 2,055.

Market Breadth#

Overall, the number of declining stocks outpaced those that rose, with 299 stocks declining compared to 165 that increased in value. Additionally, 85 stocks remained unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

Commodities and Currency Update#

In the commodities market, crude oil prices saw a significant drop, with April delivery down 10.69% to $84.64 per barrel. Brent oil for May delivery also fell by 10.42%, closing at $88.65. In contrast, April Gold Futures rose by 2.62%, trading at $5,237.21 per troy ounce.

In currency trading, the exchange rate for the US Dollar against the Israeli Shekel (USD/ILS) remained stable, while the Euro to Shekel (EUR/ILS) also showed no change. The US Dollar Index Futures decreased by 0.55%, settling at 98.62.
