Overview of the Market#

On Tuesday, the Greek stock market experienced a slight decline, with the Athens General Composite Index falling by 0.01% at the close of trading. This downturn was primarily driven by losses in the Telecoms, Household, and Basic Resources sectors.

Notable Gainers#

Despite the overall decline, some stocks managed to perform well. Athens Medical saw a notable increase of 4.02%, rising 0.08 points to close at 1.94. Thrace Plastic also had a good day, gaining 3.63% or 0.14 points to finish at 4.00. Additionally, ADMIE IPTO SA, a holding company, rose by 2.33%, adding 0.07 points to reach 3.08.

Major Losers#

On the other hand, several companies faced significant losses. Coca Cola HBC AG dropped 2.45%, losing 1.25 points to trade at 49.85. Euronext Athens Holding SA declined by 1.79%, down 0.13 points to end at 7.12, while Kri-Kri Milk fell by 1.67%, shedding 0.40 points to close at 23.55.

In total, advancing stocks outnumbered declining ones, with 63 stocks rising compared to 53 that fell, and 14 remaining unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.

Commodities Update#

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery decreased by 1.72%, or 83.25, settling at $4,745.55 per troy ounce. Conversely, Crude Oil for June delivery increased by 1.16%, reaching $88.43 per barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose by 0.90% to trade at $96.34 per barrel.

The Euro to US Dollar exchange rate remained stable, with EUR/USD unchanged at 1.18, and EUR/GBP also steady at 0.87. The US Dollar Index Futures saw a slight increase of 0.16%, reaching 98.07.
