No Military Solution to Iran Conflict#

Germany’s Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, recently stated that a military approach to the ongoing conflict in Iran is not a viable option. Speaking at an event in Berlin, he emphasized that the idea of controlled regime change in Iran is unrealistic and could lead to chaos, which would not benefit Germany, the region, or the Iranian people.

The Risks of Instability#

Wadephul highlighted that instability within Iran would have negative repercussions not just for the country itself, but also for the surrounding region. He firmly stated, "There will be no military solution," underscoring the need for a more stable and peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Stance on Russia#

In addition to discussing Iran, Wadephul addressed the situation with Russia, asserting that now is not the time to ease sanctions. While Germany is open to dialogue with Russia, he pointed out that Moscow has not shown any willingness to engage in meaningful compromise.

Collaboration on Defense Projects#

Wadephul also expressed hope that Germany and France can successfully collaborate on the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) fighter project, indicating a focus on strengthening defense capabilities in Europe.
