Overview of the Market#
On Wednesday, French equities experienced a slight decline, with the CAC 40 index falling by 0.06% at the close of trading in Paris. The SBF 120 index also saw a minor decrease of 0.02%. This downturn was primarily influenced by losses in the Consumer Services, Utilities, and Technology sectors.
Top Gainers and Losers#
Despite the overall decline, some stocks performed well. Societe Generale SA led the CAC 40 with a gain of 2.93%, closing at 67.52. Other notable gainers included Accor SA, which rose by 2.09% to 42.01, and Thales, up 1.81% to 253.40.
Conversely, the biggest losers included Publicis Groupe SA, which dropped 3.90% to 71.98, and Danone SA, down 3.20% to 70.78. Pernod Ricard SA also fell by 2.31% to 66.84.
Performance of the SBF 120#
On the SBF 120 index, Bollore SA stood out with a significant increase of 11.13%, closing at 4.85. Virbac SA and Alstom SA also saw gains of 5.53% and 4.19%, respectively. However, Vivendi SA experienced the largest decline, down 6.50% to 1.83, followed by Ipsos and Arkema SA, which fell by 5.25% and 4.89%.
