Market Overview#

Brazil's stock market experienced a downturn on Friday, with the Bovespa index closing down 0.91%. This decline marks a new low for the index over the past month, primarily influenced by losses in the Real Estate, Basic Materials, and Financials sectors.

Notable Performers#

Despite the overall decline, some stocks managed to gain. SLC Agricola SA saw an increase of 2.51%, closing at 17.97. BB Seguridade Participacoes SA followed closely with a rise of 1.98%, ending at 35.13. Tim Participacoes SA also posted a gain of 1.49%, closing at 26.51.

Major Declines#

On the other hand, several stocks faced significant losses. Braskem SA dropped 6.97% to close at 11.48, while Companhia Siderurgica Nacional fell 6.23% to 5.72. Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos also experienced a decline of 6.17%, closing at 8.74.

In commodities, Gold Futures for April delivery fell by 2.08% to $5,019.26 per troy ounce, while Crude Oil for April delivery rose by 2.94% to $98.54 per barrel. The Brazilian Real weakened slightly against the US Dollar, with the USD/BRL rising 1.49% to 5.32.
