Market Overview#

Australia's stock market closed lower on Tuesday, with the S&P/ASX 200 index declining by 0.19%. This drop was primarily influenced by losses in the Gold, Materials, and Financial sectors.

Top Performers#

Despite the overall decline, some stocks managed to gain. Capricorn Metals Ltd saw a significant increase of 10.59%, rising 1.26 points to close at 13.16. Ventia Services Group Ltd followed with a 5.75% gain, adding 0.32 points to end at 5.89. Wisetech Global Ltd also performed well, up 5.34% or 2.32 points, closing at 45.80.

Notable Declines#

On the other hand, several stocks faced substantial losses. Codan Ltd dropped 8.90%, losing 3.91 points to trade at 40.01. Magellan Financial Group Ltd fell by 6.58%, down 0.68 points to close at 9.66, while Regis Resources Ltd decreased by 6.42%, shedding 0.46 points to end at 6.71.
