Price Increases Announced#

Argentina has officially raised the prices for biofuels in its domestic market, as detailed in two resolutions published on Monday. This change reflects the government's ongoing adjustments to fuel pricing.

New Bioethanol Prices#

The Energy Ministry has set the minimum price for sugarcane-based bioethanol at 1,005.872 pesos (approximately $0.72) per liter, an increase from the previous price of 1,000.868 pesos per liter. Similarly, the price for corn-based bioethanol has risen to 921.910 pesos per liter (around $0.66), up from 917.323 pesos.

Biodiesel Price Adjustment#

In addition to bioethanol, the price of biodiesel, which is blended with diesel fuel, has also been adjusted. The new price is set at 1,808.425 pesos per metric ton (about $1,294.50), slightly down from the previous price of 1,808.690 pesos.

Impact and Context#

These price changes took effect immediately and will remain until a new price is announced. Argentina is a significant producer of biofuels, especially biodiesel, and regularly updates prices in the domestic market to reflect various economic factors.
