Overview of Aminex's Progress#
Aminex PLC has announced significant advancements in the development of its Ntorya gas field in Tanzania. The company is currently constructing a pipeline and aims to begin gas production by September 2026.
Pipeline Construction Status#
As of now, 85% of the route clearing for the 35-kilometer, 14-inch Ntorya-Madimba pipeline has been completed. Additionally, about 50% of the welding for the pipeline is done. Trenching activities, which involve digging to lay the pipeline, are set to resume in May 2026 after a break during the rainy season.
Financial Update#
In October 2025, Aminex raised $3.94 million to support its operations as it prepares for revenue generation. Notably, Eclipse Investments LLC converted a $1.60 million loan into equity, allowing Aminex to eliminate its debt. For the year ending December 31, 2025, the company reported a loss of $4.98 million, a slight improvement from a $5.30 million loss in 2024. This loss was primarily due to ongoing impairments of certain assets and costs related to warrants issued during the fundraising.
Future Plans#
Aminex is also gearing up for drilling the Chikumbi-1 well, with around 90% of the necessary service and equipment tenders already issued. The company anticipates that initial production from the Ntorya-2, Ntorya-1, and Chikumbi-1 wells could reach about 60 million cubic feet of gas per day. With a 25-year Development Licence for the Ntorya field and a Gas Sales Agreement in place, Aminex is confident in its financial backing leading up to the expected first gas revenues.
