Amazon's New Investment#

Amazon.com Inc has announced a significant investment of A$750 million (approximately $535 million) to establish a new robotics-driven fulfillment center in Brisbane, Australia. This facility is expected to be completed by 2028.

Size and Capacity#

The new fulfillment center will span 150,000 square meters, making it one of the largest warehouses ever constructed in Queensland. Once operational, it will have the capacity to process over 125 million packages each year, significantly enhancing Amazon's logistics capabilities in the region.

Job Creation and Technology#

The center will utilize advanced robotics alongside human workers to efficiently manage package processing. This initiative is projected to create more than 1,000 local jobs, contributing to the local economy.

Amazon's Robotics Journey#

Since acquiring Kiva Systems in 2012, Amazon has been integrating robots into its logistics operations. As of late 2025, the company has deployed over 1 million robots across its network, streamlining the fulfillment process and improving efficiency.
