Revenue Growth in Q1 2023#
A1 Telekom Austria has announced a revenue growth of 3.9% for the first quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year. This growth was largely fueled by an increase in service revenues across its various operations.
Service Revenue Insights#
During this quarter, service revenues rose by 3.2%. Notably, international markets experienced a robust growth rate of 11.5%, which helped to balance out a decline in the company’s home market in Austria. The company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) also saw a positive increase of 4.6%, with significant contributions from its operations in Bulgaria, Croatia, and Belarus.
Cost Management and Operational Efficiency#
Despite facing rising costs related to information and communications technology (ICT), A1 Telekom Austria managed to keep its core operating expenses under control. The ability to maintain cost discipline while navigating these challenges reflects the company's operational efficiency. The EBITDA growth outpaced revenue growth, indicating an improvement in profit margins during the quarter.
Full-Year Outlook#
Looking ahead, A1 Telekom Austria has reaffirmed its full-year outlook, expecting total revenue growth to be between 2-3%. The company also plans to invest around EUR 750 million in capital expenditures, excluding costs related to acquiring spectrum. This strategic focus on both domestic and international markets underscores the company’s commitment to geographic diversification and sustainable growth.
A1 Telekom Austria provides a range of telecommunications services across Central and Eastern Europe, catering to both consumer and business customers.
